Bertrum “Bertie” Styles learned to work a room long before the Masquerade. In Prohibition, he ran the Velvet Dime speakeasy behind a tailor’s shop. The Embrace made last call forever; now he treats Unlife like a perpetual set—drifting city to city, collecting introductions like cufflinks, and smoothing disputes with a tab, a quip, and an audience. His only terror? A crease in the lapel of his velvet smoker’s jacket. Wrinkle it and prepare to greet the Beast.

Bertie is portrayed by Joseph, a teacher, writer, and particularly shy individual when not in character. Joseph enjoys deep conversations and unique perspectives, and he’s overjoyed to have found the VTM community.
